Production-Table of Content
Production-Table of Content
3/11
The last part of my final project was creating the table of contents. To begin, I knew I wanted to make a healthy food substitution chart. I began by using my theme color to create a chart divided into 4 different categories. I made sure they were evenly spaced and then began the title. I chose the title "4 healthy food substitutes. I chose
Cereal into Oatmeal
Coke into Flavored Water
Chips into Rice Cakes
Mayo into Humas
After I decided what foods to include, I wrote them in my Akira font at the top of each category. After school, I then went to Publix and took a photo of the food I needed. I then cut out each food item and placed it into the boxes. I then rearranged it to my liking and finished the chart. I
I thought the top looked very plain and boring, so I decided to add an opacity box beneath the title to add more visual elements and make it more appealing to the target audience.
I am still not finished yet, but I am almost done!

Production-Profile Feature Article
Production-Profile Feature Article
3/7
Hello Blog, today I worked on my profile side of the feature article. I started by uploading the posed photo of the coach and began to add text boxes to begin the text wrap. I once again forgot that the photo would upload HUGE so I had to reajusted to to fit the screen.
After I adjusted it, I began my text wrapping. I put the font into Microsoft and put the font over the photo. I selected the photo and went to Windows and pressed the text wrap feature. It instantly layers around the body and creates the look I wanted. I added patting on the photo to make it look less cramped. I feel like this profile is pretty straightforward.
I did the same thing with the headline, where I made the last word in my color. I named this title "The importance of sleep." Then I added a subhead and a byline. I am not finished yet, but this is my progress so far.

I kept working on my feature article, and I realized I hated the background color. I thought it looked weird, so I decided to scratch the whole thing and attempt to redesign it. Well, technically, I did not scratch the entire thing; I kept the general layout, but I wanted to recreate the visual elements.
I wanted to see how purple boxed looked around the cutouts, so I put the stroke to 3 and layered the box behind the photo. I also did not like it. I was getting desperate, so I decided to ask others for advice. They suggest layer boxed behind the workout titles I tried in both purple and white.
I tried again with a new idea, but I really did not love anything that I did. I realized I liked it best when it was plain and white in the background. So I decided to undo everything and go with my original plan.
I kept the accent word color picked as well as the numbers and made everything else black inclusing the page number. Some people think it is a plan, but personally, I really like it.

After finishing my cover, next I decided to work on my feature article. I knew I wanted it to a step by step guide to a beginner friendly workout. I began by uploading the photos on InDesign at first they were HUGE and I eventually readjusted them into a normal size.
Next I began creating the title, I came up with "30 Minute Muscles" because the 30 minute workout is a guide to give you muscles so it was perfect. I began creating the headline and using the same color pick from cover. Next I created the subhead which I placed under the headline and the byline.
I began creating the information and step by step next to the photo. I did two mini paragraph. The first one was a guide on how to perform the task and right below it was the explanation of why that exercise is effective.
After I finished that I rearranged the photos to my liking but I felt like the background was to plan and wanted to change it.

Production- Finishing Cover
Production- Finishing Cover
2/27
I have OFFICALLY finished my cover, and I absolutely love it!
Finishing Up Puffs and Coverlines
I created a bunch more taglines all over the magazine. I did phrases like "Feel the burn" and "#1 workout for beginners." I use a combination of Akira for bold and eye-catching phrase and used Mirosoft to give context to the bolder phrases.
Creating Barcode
For some reason, creating the barcode was the most challenging part. Because the backround was so dark, none of what I found would work. I even tried white ones, but I wasn't to in love with how it looked. Then I decided to try and put a white box under the barcode and layer it on top and it worked perfectly I was super happy. Under the barcode I added the price, I added it there because it made the most logical sense to me.
Struggles
The one real struggle that I had was deciding how to make the cover look aesthetic. I am not the best at designing so I kept second guessing myself and kept rearranging literally EVERTHING. However I am super proud of how the cover came out!!
